Apryl Haden

MANAGING PARTNER

Apryl Haden’s diverse background brings a distinct advantage to her legal practice, making her a trusted advocate for her clients.

Apryl’s journey spans education, real estate, and public service. After graduating summa cum laude from Auburn University and completing a master’s degree in education at the University of Virginia, she taught at the college level in Northeast Tennessee. In 1993, she transitioned into real estate, quickly becoming a top-producing agent and broker. Throughout her nearly 20 years in the industry, Apryl prioritized professional ethics and education, regularly training both new and experienced agents on contract law and Fair Housing standards.

Her passion for law ultimately led her to the Charleston School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. Following a year in Washington, D.C. supporting housing stability for formerly homeless individuals, Apryl returned to South Carolina to launch her legal career. Settling in Myrtle Beach in 2017, she initially managed real estate matters for a local firm before founding her own practice.

Apryl represents clients across residential and commercial real estate transactions, business law matters, and estate planning. She maintains active memberships with the American Bar Association, the Horry County Bar, the South Carolina Women’s Law Association, and the South Carolina Bar’s Real Estate and Solo Practice sections.

Outside the office, Apryl resides in Myrtle Beach with her two dogs Theo and Lucy and stays closely connected with her three adult children.

Chadd Toothman

Chadd Toothman is a partner at Haden Toothman Law Group, where he represents clients across several key areas of law. His practice focuses primarily on real estate transactions, personal injury, and criminal defense.

Chadd grew up in Myrtle Beach and graduated from Myrtle Beach High School in 2002. He attended Coastal Carolina University, where he earned a degree in History and became the first scholarship signee in the history of the university’s football program. After graduating in 2007, he continued his education at CCU to earn a Master’s Degree in Arts and Teaching. Chadd went on to teach and coach at South Carolina high schools for several years before attending the Charleston School of Law. He earned his Juris Doctor in 2017 and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2018.

Chadd is passionate about his community and the people who live here. He actively supports numerous local charitable events and has volunteered as a football coach for two State Champion Myrtle Beach Seahawk teams. He takes great pride in working with clients throughout Horry County and across the state.

On a personal note, Chadd is married and the proud father of two daughters.

Shelby Beal

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY & ESTATE PLANNING DEPT. MANAGER

Shelby has always been driven by a lifelong goal of practicing law and serving her community with dedication, integrity, and purpose. Originally from Morristown, Tennessee, Shelby attended the University of Tennessee as a second-generation Volunteer, graduating magna cum laude in 2020 with a degree in Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctor with honors from the Lincoln Memorial Duncan School of Law in 2023 and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2024.

Throughout law school, Shelby distinguished herself both academically and through community service. She served on the Moot Court Board becoming a regional semi-finalist in the American Bar Association’s National Moot Court Competition and led the Women of Law Society as President, where she established suit scholarships to provide professional wardrobe access for aspiring law students. She devoted nearly 300 hours to pro bono service during her legal studies and was nominated for both the Lincoln Character Award and the Lincoln Service Award.

Driven by a strong spirit of service, Shelby remains dedicated to giving back to her community both inside and outside the courtroom. In her free time, Shelby enjoys restoring and admiring vintage cars, cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, and spending time at the beach with her husband, Brandon, and their dog, Holley. 

 
 

Susan Blevins

Susan Blevins brings years of specialized legal experience and a strong dedication to client care, making her an essential cornerstone of the firm’s real estate and estate planning practices.

Originally from Danville, Virginia, Susan made Myrtle Beach her home in 2001. She attended Horry-Georgetown Technical College, earning her Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies in 2016. Though her early career included work in family law, Susan quickly discovered a true passion for real estate, developing deep expertise while serving as a real estate paralegal for several top local firms over the years.

Since joining the firm in June 2022, Susan has made an immediate impact, drawing on her extensive knowledge to guide clients seamlessly through their real estate transactions. Driven by a love for learning, she continues to expand her role by supporting the firm’s growing estate planning department.

Outside the office, Susan enjoys kayaking, playing disc golf, and spending time with her family.

 

Liz Suter

Liz Suter brings over a decade of hands-on paralegal experience and a versatile skill set, serving as a key anchor for the firm’s daily operations.

Born in Stafford, Virginia, Liz moved to Myrtle Beach with her family in 1992 and graduated from Socastee High School. She earned an Associate Degree in Public Service from Horry-Georgetown Technical College before completing her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a minor in Psychology, at Coastal Carolina University in 2008.

With more than 10 years of experience as a paralegal specializing in criminal law and personal injury, Liz previously worked with Toothman Law. While sharing office space with the Law Office of Apryl Haden, she quickly proved to be a versatile asset, expanding her legal expertise into real estate transactions and firm marketing while actively pursuing her real estate license.

Always ready to step in where needed, Liz plays a vital role in managing day-to-day office operations and supporting clients across all practice areas.

Outside the office, Liz enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, staying active at the gym, and eating Italian meals.

 

 

Valerie Reynolds

Valerie Reynolds brings a rapid mastery of estate planning procedures, operational leadership, and a welcoming, client-focused approach to Haden-Toothman Law Group.

Originally born and raised in Charles Town, West Virginia, Valerie relocated with her family to Little River, South Carolina, in 2020. She joined the firm in 2021, quickly advancing from a part-time assistant to a full-fledged paralegal . Today, as Office Manager and Estate Planning Paralegal, Valerie oversees daily firm operations while ensuring every client receives attentive support often serving as the warm, friendly voice greeting clients when they call.

Valerie is deeply passionate about guiding clients through the estate planning process with confidence and ensuring each client feels informed, supported, and cared for throughout the process.

Outside the office, Valerie enjoys spending time at the beach, traveling to Jamaica, and spending time with her family.

 

Shana Shankle

Shana Shankle brings a background in digital and print design, media, and communications to her role as Marketing and Community Manager at Haden-Toothman Law Group.

Originally from Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, Shana earned her Associate Degree in Multimedia Technology from Allegany College of Maryland and graduated with honors from Frostburg State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and a minor in Graphic Design. She began her career as a graphic designer in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and later relocated to Myrtle Beach after getting married, where she served as a social media manager before joining the firm. Today, she manages Haden-Toothman Law Group’s marketing efforts, social media content, and community outreach.

Shana enjoys connecting the firm with the local community and helping keep clients informed and engaged.

Outside the office, Shana is a passionate musical theatre fan who has seen nearly 70 productions. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time on the beach, and enjoying time with her husband and their dog, Winston.

Nicole Washburn

Admin/Paralegal

Nicole was born in Hollywood, Florida. She then moved to Columbus, Ohio where she grew up and graduated from Reynoldsburg High School. Nicole received her Associates Degree in Business Administration and has worked as a paralegal, legal assistant and office administrator since 1998. She moved to the Myrtle Beach area in February of 2024.


Nicole started working for Haden Toothman Law Group September 9th, 2024. She will be the smiling face that you will see when you first walk into our office. Nicole will be our front office administrator. She has the ability to work as a paralegal/legal assistant and has 25 years experience working in various law firms for the Columbus Bar Association. Nicole enjoys helping people and is a good fit for Haden Toothman Law Group.


In Nicole’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her mother and family. She enjoys going out to eat, talking with friends, traveling, gardening and much more. She looks forward to helping and assisting our clients.
